ExamCoach ("we", "our", or "us"), operated by Hillbyte, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website (https://examcoach.hillbyte.com) or use the ExamCoach Mobile Application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, as well as information collected automatically when you navigate and practice inside the app:

A. Personal Information

• Phone Number: Used exclusively for secure, passwordless OTP authentication and optional WhatsApp daily current affairs digests.
• Candidate Profile: Target examinations (e.g., MCS Combined Competitive Examination, Departmental, or Combined Technical), optional candidate name, and study preferences.

B. Learning Telemetry & Usage Data

• Practice History: Questions answered, quiz scores, accuracy percentages, test completion time, and weak topic analytics.
• AI Assistant Queries: Questions, definitions, or syllabus inquiries submitted to the AI Exam Coach to generate tailored educational explanations.
• Saved Items: Bookmarked questions, study note progression, and mock test attempts.

C. Device & Technical Identifiers

• Device model, operating system version, anonymous installation identifiers, IP address, and Push Notification tokens (used solely for study reminders and weekly digest notifications).

D. Payment Information

• All subscription payments (Pro Passes) are processed securely through Razorpay, a PCI-DSS certified payment gateway. ExamCoach never collects, processes, or stores your credit/debit card numbers, UPI PINs, or bank account credentials.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, personalize, and optimize your exam preparation experience.
• Deliver tailored question feeds matching your target syllabus and exam stream.
• Generate adaptive AI explanations and diagnostic weak-topic recommendations.
• Process subscription orders and verify pro features access.
• Send study reminders, weekly exam notifications, and government job vacancy alerts.
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or fraudulent activity.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We share limited information with vetted third-party service providers solely to perform essential infrastructure operations:

• Razorpay: Payment processing gateway (PCI-DSS compliant).
• AI Model Inference Providers (OpenAI / Google): Secure processing of educational queries submitted to the AI Coach.
• Meta Cloud API (WhatsApp): Delivery of opted-in daily current affairs digests and OTP verification messages.
• Expo / Firebase Cloud Messaging: Delivery of mobile push notifications.

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data to advertisers or third-party marketing brokers.

4. Data Retention & Security

We implement industry-standard encryption protocols (SSL/HTTPS/TLS) to safeguard your data in transit and at rest. Your account telemetry is retained for as long as your account is active to maintain your learning streaks, quiz analytics, and test history.

5. Account & Data Deletion Policy (Google Play Compliant)

To request permanent deletion of your account:

• In the mobile app, navigate to Profile > Legal & Privacy > Delete Account, OR
• Send an email from your registered phone/email to contact@hillbyte.com with the subject "ExamCoach Account Deletion Request" and your registered phone number.

Upon verification, all personal identifiers, conversation logs, and diagnostic telemetry will be permanently wiped from our production database within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

ExamCoach is designed for candidates preparing for competitive government examinations and is intended for individuals aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the effective date.
